F**K THE BIG C - HE(ARTS) HEALING POWERS Art Exhibit September 8-30, 2011
F**K THE BIG C! is a unique art exhibit at eve-N-odd Gallery in St-Peterburg, Florida with works by three cancer survivors, Betty Esperanza from Canada, Branka Djordjevic from Luxembourg, and Ria Vanden Eynde from Belgium. The exhibit 's theme is based on the effects of cancer on the artist's evolution with an emphasis on raising cancer awareness and prevention.
Promotions are planned all summer long for the show as to make it count beyond a gallery exhibition, to inspire a message that cancer undoubtably transformed the individual art making practice; Betty Esperanza, Branka Djordjevic and Ria Vanden Eynde, emerged stronger as women and artists. All three women feel enriched by the experience and have committed themselves to Live their He(Art) Life to the fullest. Giving cancer the middle finger.
F**K THE BIG C! show opens September 8 with live performances, Gallery Walk on September 10 and ends September 30, 2011. Donations will go to local cancer support projects. A CALLOUT to Mail Artists: send a "F**K THE BIG C!" postcard to the gallery. Send a jpg of your 4 x 6 to [email protected] and it will be documented on http://riavde.blogspot.com/ Visitors at the exhibit can take one home in exchange for a donation.
F**K THE BIG C! is for all those who survived it, for all those living with the disease, and for all those who lost their battle.

make a difference - help the homeless
Everyday we walk past the homeless. They are invisible to us because the thought of actually recognizing the sheer cruelty and despair of the disenfranchised would make us feel small and ridiculous. Nevermind the pain and suffering. Everyone has the right to live a life filled with dignity and respect. Please support causes that stop poverty. Any amount of money you give from 0.25¢ to $10.00 will help people stay off the streets.
